Perfect venue, pleasant stuff. Ideal central location, just off beautiful garden, hill since an apparent change of ownership and the Karoo National Park. Also, in the outside lounge area. Really great experience there.

I always stay at this property en route to Cape Town, and Matoppo never disappoints. The location is good, with a lovely colonial building. The rooms are well-appointed and comfortable, with large bathrooms. The property grounds are lush and peaceful, perfect for weary travelers. They even have solar power, so loadshedding is not a problem. The pool is a favorite, and the staff is friendly and helpful. a consistent and satisfactory stay.
Would be happy to recommend this hotel.

It was a grand old hotel, fabulous base for overnight stay in Beaufort West. The room in the large garden. The location was favourable and stunning, down hill since an apparent change of ownership! Besides, it was not far from the Manor House as well as the centre. Had supper in an indoor restaurant.

Beautiful property, room with four-poster bed and Persian rugs, tea/coffee facilities and fridge in rooms, large bathroom with nice shower and bath with lion feet, amazing dinner of lamb, impressive breakfast menu with huge choice and excellent prices. Ideal for groups of friends with nice outside area for drinks and snacks.
Felt at home, nothing too much trouble.

The grounds are picturesque with gardens and trees providing a peaceful vibe, and the rooms are well-maintained and comfortable, allowing for a good night's rest. The friendly staff members make an effort to ensure guests feel welcome, and the food served is of high quality.
The lack of staff during certain hours, including the bar and restaurant, can impact the overall experience.

The hotel grounds were well-maintained and I enjoyed spending time in the expansive garden. The room was clean and spacious, with a large super king bed that provided ultimate comfort. The amenities in the room, such as the small bar fridge and kettle, were a nice touch. Beautiful garden and lovely staff! The breakfast buffet was scrumptious and the rooms were very clean. The hotel is located near many local attractions and landmarks which allowed us to easily explore the city. Lastly, the hotel also provided free parking which was very convenient for us.
The air conditioning was not working properly and the bedding felt damp due to the high humidity. We also found the room to be quite noisy which made it difficult to get a good night's sleep.
